- PURPOSE
The All Star Purchasing Meeting Code of Conduct is designed to create a respectful, inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment for all participants at any All Star Purchasing sponsored in-person or virtual event.
- APPLICABILITY
The Code of Conduct applies to any All Star Purchasing event, which shall include meetings, conferences, receptions, conventions, meetings, workshops, exhibits, and any other forum organized, hosted or sponsored in whole or part by All Star Purchasing, wherever it takes place, and any event or gathering that takes place on All Star Purchasing premises whether or not All Star Purchasing is organizing, hosting or sponsoring.
The Code of Conduct applies to all participants or attendees at an All Star Purchasing event, that is, all persons attending (regardless whether in person or virtually) or involved in any capacity at an All Star Purchasing event, including in its set up or delivery. This includes all members, sponsors, guests, attendees, staff, vendors, exhibitors, and speakers. By attending or being involved in any capacity at an All Star Purchasing event, participants agree to abide by the All Star Purchasing Code of Conduct.
The Code of Conduct supplements, and does not affect, the application of other relevant policies, regulations, rules and laws, including laws regulating the premises in which any the All Star Purchasing event takes place.
All Star Purchasing is committed to implementing the Code of Conduct fairly and without discrimination.
- KEY PRINCIPLES
- Respect and Consideration
All participants must act respectfully towards others, ensuring a collegial and productive atmosphere.
- Harassment Policy
Harassment, bullying, discrimination, and other abusive behavior are strictly prohibited. Harassment is any improper or unwelcome conduct that might reasonably be expected or be perceived to cause offence or humiliation to another person. Harassment in any form because of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, physical ability, physical appearance, ethnicity, race, national origin, political affiliation, age, religion or any other reason is prohibited at All Star Purchasing events. Unacceptable behavior includes but is not limited to:
- Verbal, physical, or written abuse related to gender, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, and other protected categories;
- Making derogatory or demeaning comments about someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity;
- Name-calling or using slurs with a gender/sexual connotation;
- Making sexual comments about appearance, clothing or body parts;
- Threats, stalking, or any inappropriate interference with others’ participation;
- Unwelcome touching, including pinching, patting, rubbing or purposefully brushing up against a person;
- Making inappropriate sexual gestures;
- Sharing sexual or lewd anecdotes or jokes’;
- Sending sexually suggestive communications in any format;
- Sharing or displaying sexually inappropriate images or videos in any format; and
- Any behavior that violates any law or regulation.
- Health & Safety
When necessary as a direct requirement of a health authority, or as otherwise deemed prudent to promote health and safety of attendees and staff, All Star Purchasing may implement precautionary measures.
- Privacy
Any conduct that could harm someone’s privacy or professional reputation is forbidden, including defamation or conflicts of interest.
- Unauthorized Recordings
Presentations may not be recorded without All Star Purchasing’s written consent.
- Retaliation
Retaliation against an individual for reporting harassment or discrimination or for participating in an investigation of a claim of harassment or discrimination is a serious violation and is strictly prohibited. Acts of retaliation should be reported immediately and will be promptly addressed.
- False Reporting
Knowingly making a false accusation of harassment, discrimination, or retaliation, or knowingly providing false information in the course of an investigation of a report, may be grounds for appropriate disciplinary action and be treated as harassment. A complaint made in good faith, even if found to be unsubstantiated, will not be considered a false accusation.

- REPORTING AND INVESTIGATING
- Reports of Perceived Violations
All Star Purchasing encourages reporting of all perceived violation of the All Star Purchasing Code of Conduct including incidents of harassment, discrimination, or retaliation, regardless of the offender’s identity or position. Individuals who believe they have been the victim of such conduct should report their concerns to the office of the Chief Executive Officer of All Star Purchasing. In the event that an individual feels that their physical safety is in jeopardy, All Star Purchasing encourages the individual to contact the appropriate law enforcement agency immediately.
- Procedures
Any reported allegations of violations of the All Star Purchasing Code of Conduct (including harassment, discrimination, or retaliation) will be investigated promptly by All Star Purchasing. All Star may conduct preliminary fact finding including interviews with the parties involved as well as witnesses to the conduct. In the event of a violation, All Star Purchasing reserves the right to remove any offender or perceived offender from the venue immediately.
- Confidentiality
To the extent practical, All Star Purchasing will maintain confidentiality to the extent consistent with appropriate investigation and corrective action. All Star Purchasing reserves the right to notify an individual’s employer of serious misconduct under this policy when it is determined that such notification is appropriate and such misconduct substantiated.
- Violations
If it is determined that an individual has engaged in prohibited conduct, the Board of Directors, or the appropriate committee or staff designee, shall determine the appropriate action to be taken against the individual, which may include, but is not limited to: (a) private reprimand; (b) expulsion from the All Star Purchasing event without warning or refund; (c) implementation of conditions upon attendance at future events, including restriction; (d) notification to the individual’s employer for serious misconduct as determined by All Star Purchasing in its sole discretion.
- Reports of Perceived Violations
- LEGAL NOTICE
Members and other attendees are prohibited from posting any information or other material that is protected by copyright without express permission. A member or other attendee posting material is taken as warranty and representation by the posting party that they own the copyright with respect to such material or have received express permission from the copyright owner to post.
- REVIEW AND UPDATE OF CODE OF CONDUCT
This Code of Conduct is subject to periodic review and updates by All Star to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.
- ASSENT TO POLICY
As a condition of attending and participating in any meeting of All Star Purchasing, each attendee will be required to acknowledge and accept All Star policies regarding behavior at the events (including this code of conduct) and all attendees are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with these policies.
